Discover Your Inner Rock Star with Our Live Band Program for 7-18 Year Olds

Learn how to play music in a live band

The Live Band Program is a weekly class built around playing and performing in a live band. Students learn the ropes by rehearsing together as a band in our professional studio, developing their abilities on their instrument while learning skills that are part of playing and performing with other musicians, then we turn them into a rock stars when they record songs in our studio and perform a live gig with their band in front of a real audience at the end of every term!

The coolest way to learn an instrument

It’s been said that every rehearsal is worth 10 hours of practicing alone. For any young musicians learning an instrument, there’s no better way to progress than by playing with a band.

Watch them grow with confidence

For a budding musician, there’s absolutely nothing better than playing with a live band. It builds confidence, nurtures creativity, and provides room for a voice to be heard. Watching young musicians grow into competent, confident performers is a fantastic thing to see. They’ll leave the program standing taller, playing better, and with more experience than they could ever gain from traditional music lessons.

Who is the Live Band Program for?

The Live Band Program is for young musicians aged 7-18 (students of a similar age are grouped together) who play any of the instruments we teach at Amped Up. If you’re interested in learning how to play in a band, while rehearsing, recording and performing live, then you’ll have a lot of fun on the Live Band Program.

What will students learn on the Live Band Program?

Students spend time rehearsing, where we teach them things that are essential to playing in a live band. They’re encouraged to work together to develop their sound as a group, and they’ll learn how to communicate their creative ideas to produce brand new music. They’ll also develop in-depth knowledge of other band instruments as well as their own.

How long are the sessions?

Each session lasts an hour, except for the final session of each term, which is a live performance that lasts 2-3 hours (including time for students to sound-check).

How good do I have to be?

We group students of a similar ability together so you can join the Live Band Program at any level, but it’s best to have been playing for a few weeks before starting.

Can I give it a try?

You’re more than welcome to pop down and give the Live Band Program a try before signing up (your first session is free). Get in touch to find out more.
