Update: November 2nd, 2020
Due to the increasing spread of COVID-19, the government has announced a month-long lockdown from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December.
In line with government requirements, we will be closing the academy on Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December, with all tutors moving to online lessons only. (if you’d prefer not to take online lessons, please read the bottom of this update).
What do I need to do?
If you’ve previously had online lessons using Skype, your lessons will automatically be switched over to Skype. If you’ve previously had online lessons using Zoom, you can simply join your tutor’s Zoom meeting room at your normal lesson time. Easy peasy!
Students who’ve not previously had online lessons
Zoom is the best way to get started with online lessons. Just let us know you’d like to give it a try and we’ll send you your tutor’s Zoom details!
I’ve not had lessons before and I’d like a free trial with a tutor
Please fill out our free trial enquiry form and we’ll get back to you with availability for December, when the academy is due to open again.
Students who don’t want to take online lessons
We understand online lessons don’t work for everyone, so simply let us know if you’d prefer not to take online lessons and your lessons will be ‘paused’ from Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December. Please note: Payments made for lessons in November will be rolled on to December, continuing to January if necessary.
We’d like to wish you all the best during this difficult time. Keep yourselves busy and stay safe!
Update: October 21st, 2020
The academy will remain open when Doncaster enters tier 3 on Saturday 24th October, 2020.
As a COVID-19 secure business, we will continue following government guidelines very closely to ensure face to face lessons can be provided as safely and responsibly as possible.
Update: August 1st, 2020
After several months of tutors teaching online via Skype, Zoom and Facetime, we feel the time has come that lessons can safely be provided at the academy once again.
It goes without saying that we’ve implemented a lot of changes to make sure things are as safe as possible for students, family members, tutors and anyone else visiting the academy. Although we want to make things as normal as we can, we hope you’ll bear with us while things are temporarily a little different to usual. Safety is our number one concern, and this will be reflected in several different ways now that the academy is open for face to face lessons.
Here’s what we’re doing to keep things as safe as possible:
1. Sanitisation station
When you enter the academy, you’ll be greeted by a hand sanitisation station. We request that all visitors to the academy sanitise their hands upon entering the building.
2. Face coverings
All tutors will be wearing a face shield and/or a face mask during lessons.
3. Distancing during lessons
All lessons will be taught from a distance of 1m plus (as close to 2m as possible). Piano lessons and drum lessons will temporarily be taught utilising two instruments, with the student using one, and the tutor using another.
4. Sanitising instruments
Instruments used by students will be sanitised after every use. For guitarists, bassists and drummers, we politely request that you bring your own instrument/drum sticks. We understand this is not possible for all instruments, such as pianos, which is why tutors will be especially vigilant when it comes to keeping the academy’s instruments clean.
We’re really excited to get back to face to face lessons and we hope you’re as ready to get back to it as we are.
See you at the academy soon!
