Discover Your Inner Rock Star with Our Rock Band Program
Learn how to play music in a live band
The Rock Band Program is a weekly class built around playing and performing in a live band. Students learn the ropes by rehearsing together as a band in our professional studio, developing their abilities on their instrument while learning skills that are part of playing and performing with other musicians. Then we turn them into a rock stars when they record songs in our studio and perform a live gig with their band in front of a real audience!
The coolest way to learn an instrument
It’s been said that every rehearsal is worth 10 hours of practicing alone. For any young musicians learning an instrument, there’s no better way to progress than by playing with a band.
- 90 minute rehearsal sessions
- Sessions held on the same day each week
- Groups split into juniors and adults
- A maximum of 7 students per session
Perform with your band at real, live gigs
Students get the chance to perform a live gig every 6 months at our summer and winter shows
Now’s your chance to show off what you’ve got when you perform at a live music venue in Doncaster.
Your first session is free – why not give it a try?
Watch them grow with confidence
For a budding musician, there’s absolutely nothing better than playing with a live band. It builds confidence and nurtures creativity. Watching musicians grow into competent, confident performers is a fantastic thing to see. They’ll leave the program standing taller, playing better, and with more experience than they could ever gain from traditional music lessons.
Who is the Rock Band Program for?
The Rock Band Program is for budding musicians who play any of the instruments we teach at Amped Up. If you’re interested in learning how to play in a band, whilst rehearsing, recording and performing live, then you’ll have a lot of fun on the Rock Band Program.
What will students learn on the Rock Band Program?
Students spend time rehearsing, where we teach them things that are essential to playing in a live band. They’re encouraged to work together to develop their sound as a group, and they’ll learn how to communicate their creative ideas. They’ll also develop in-depth knowledge of other band instruments as well as their own.
How long are the sessions?
Each weekly session lasts 90 minutes (except for the live gigs which are held every 6 months).
How good do I have to be?
We group students of a similar ability together so you can join the Rock Band Program at almost any level, but it’s best to have been playing for at least a few months.
